Book Cover Designs
These book covers come from 3 different classes, AVC 169, AVC 177, and AVC 183. AVC 169 being the introduction to Illustrator and the Fundamentals of Design. AVC 177 being the introduction into utilizing Photoshop, and AVC 183 learning how to use InDesign to better help set up the layout.
Classes were taken at Mesa Community College
Took AVC 177 in Spring 2024. This was the first assignment where we really learned how to use Photoshop. By incorporating different methods to create the image, from managing opacity, using the quick selection tool to get rid of excess parts of an image. Much less managing the files by grouping them properly together and having them in order with layers.
Took AVC 169 in Spring 2024. This was a design we had to use Illustrator to create a redraft of a book cover. I choose Anne McCafrrey’s Dragonflight to redraft. As I felt the original cover didn’t do the dragons right much less the main leads. As the dragons were all the same color, and both main leads weren’t on the cover.
Took AVC 183 in Spring 2025. This was another redrafting of a book cover. With this assignment we needed to utilize InDesign so we would have proper formatting for it. Along with needing to understand the best way to layout it out.
Poster Designs
These poster designs come from two different classes. AVC 169 being the introduction to Illustrator and the Fundamentals of Design. AVC 183 learning how to use InDesign to better help set up the layout.
Classes were taken at Mesa Community College
Took AVC 169 in Spring 2024. This was the first assignment where we used the anchor points to create shape layouts to create buildings or other objects. It also had to be a travel poster, so I choose where I grew up as a child in Sidney, Ohio. Taking clear landmarks from that area to make the travel poster.
Took AVC 183 in Spring 2025. This was the first assignment where we started figuring out how to properly use the boxes to alignment font and images. This poster had to be for a music festival that you have created. I choose to do 2000 punk/emo as my festival. Which had several groups that I still love to this day incorporated onto the poster.

These designs come from 1 class of AVC 183, which was teaching use on how to use InDesign to better help set up the layout.

Creating a Brand
These designs come from two classes of AVC 183 & 248 , which was teaching us how to create a brand using Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. From there being able to implement into business cards, Resumes, and creating a website using this knowledge we learned.

Resume
Created our own resume design, to clearly show case our emerging skills we learned in AVC 183. Also to showcase our own personality in our design, as potential hirers may get tired of seeing the same design over and over again.
Business Card
Created our own business card design. This design is actually for my streaming and 3D printer business, which is why it says creator. I created my own logo from scratch, and edited the QR code to fit in with the space theme we are going with.
